Located between Admiralty and Causeway Bay, Wan Chai used to be a favorite place for sailors to hang out amongst the many bars and restaurants located in this area. In the modern days, Wan Chai has transformed into a tourist attraction with the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, Wan Chai Computer Center, restaurants and food markets.
Unlike many parts of the Hong Kong island, Wan Chai has a good mix of both commercial and residential areas. The two different areas are so intertwine that you will see people playing soccer beside shopping centers like the Wan Chai Computer Center
There are still many older buildings in this area to remind us of its vast history. That’s why Wan Chai has kept a pier for ferry crossings to Kowloon. Therefore, in addition to easy access with MTR, bus and vans, ferry is also available for those that want to take it. Along with its close promitity to the shopping of Causeway Bay and the commercial side of Central and Admiralty, many people chooses to live in Wan Chai.
