The Many Attractions Of Miami Beach

South Florida is a very popular tourist destination. Miami is one of the big reasons that it is so popular with the tourists. Miami Beach, located in Dade County, is a wonderful destination for someone looking for culture, history, and relaxation.

Miami isn’t just one beach, mind you. It actually has more than 15 beaches! These are popular with both residents and tourists. Palm Island and South Beach are very highly ranked and are two of the most visited beaches in the whole United States. Each is a great location for anything from lazing on the sand to playing majorly adventurous water sports.

History and culture buffs will also love this area. The people of Miami greatly appreciate its history. Recently, conservation efforts have sprung up to help maintain Miami’s exemplary period architecture. One such effort created the Art Deco National Historic District. Until the 1980s this area had fallen into disrepair and was a sprawling slum. The buildings have since been restored, and now this district is one of the nation’s jewels of 1920s architecture.

There is also Cauley Square Historic Village, prized by history buffs. This area is all about romantic gardens and public walks, dating back to the colonial era.

In Miami, the weather qualifies as sub-tropical. Generally, skies are clear and temperatures average about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The area is most popular as a winter tourism destination as a result, and it is also very popular with teens who are making spring break plans.

Miami has a thriving nightlife which includes dancing, nightclubs, live music arenas, comedy clubs and so on. If you aren’t a club person, try out some of the cultural events. Miami Beach regularly hosts events such as dance recitals or hip hop carnivals, film festivals, and art exhibits, to name just a few.
