When it comes to shopping, New York City is one of the best places to be. Not only can you find any store that may only have another location in Paris or Tokyo, but you have a ton of options of areas to go, making it a shopaholic’s paradise.
Here are some of the best areas to check out while shopping in New York.
When it comes to finding good deals at small stores that may carry some cool, but rare stuff, I go down to the Lower East Side. By Robert James on Orchard Street between Broome and Delancey is an upcoming designer with some quality stuff. I also love checking out a store called The Reformation, where they make all their clothes in house.
The undisputed king (or queen) of New York City shopping can be found in SoHo. Located South of Houston St (hence the name), SoHo is a shopping mecca. Any high-end brand has a store in SoHo. It’s no coincidence the girls down here are incredibly fashionable.
Chelsea is another fun area to check out for clothing. The Urban Outfitters up there is fantastic, but the best thing to do is just go walk up and down 9th and 10th Avenue. You will see some interesting New York City culture while you’re at it.
Another fun area to shop is no doubt in New York City’s prestigious Upper East Side. Madison Avenue and 5th Avenue are lined with enough stores to keep any girl busy. Even if you don’t go inside the stores, walking around this area makes for great people watching. Plus it is close to Central Park, which is always a plus.
Another area that is notorious for high end shopping, but is located on Long Island is the Americana Shopping Center in Manhasset. Also known as the “miracle mile,” this outdoor strip of luxury retailers is hard to beat.
These are some of the areas that I have been going to recently, and if you happen to find yourself in Manhattan, then you can go here too!
The author also often blogs about things such as natural stone vessel sinks and double sink bath vanities.
