Having mom and dad come visit can be exciting and fun, but it can become a complicated affair as they grow older. If you are able to accompany your parents as they travel, there are several things you can do to keep them comfortable and safe. The first thing that should be done is to allot extra time for transportation. Due to frequent bathroom trips, rests, or a slow pace, traveling with the elderly can take more time than anticipated, and can cause you to miss your flight.
If you listen to the word on the street from travelers these days, you might get the impression that traveling by air is a chaotic, inefficient mess. There are so many complaints about delays and slowdowns that you might think it’s not even worth it. These claims, however, are exaggerated quite a bit.
Flying is supposed to be an enjoyable experience for us all to enjoy. Unfortunately this is not always the case. There is all the packing and unpacking, trying to remember whether you have forgotten something, last minute hiccups, and of course the waiting around both in the airport and sometimes on the plane itself before your journey.
