Places To Check Out Around The City Of Brisbane

The Eastern Australian state of Queensland has the beautiful city of Brisbane as its capital. The hot humid summers and wet and cold winters are experiences by approximately 2,000,000 people.

For those of us not used to that kind of climate, a visit should be timed to coincide with warm weather but without the high humidity, so around September time is recommended. You get the best of both worlds then.

Whether you live in Brisbane or just passing through, a visit to the Southbank is a must. Chiefly known as the home of EXPO 1988, the fake sand which makes up the authentic looking beach is a great draw.

This has been painstakingly created to look exactly like the real thing, everything you would expect to see at the shore is here; minus crabs and jellyfish! The parade of restaurant, bars and shops are also appreciated by the visitors.

Whenever you go to the Southbank, there is always something going on. Evenings have such things as firework displays and concerts; a Friday night is Latin night where you dance in the street. There are markets that start on a Friday and continue throughout the weekend.

An hour’s drive South from Brisbane is the Luxurious Gold Coast. This is one of the classiest resorts in Australia, and is where a lot of celebrities have vacation homes.

This resort really has something for everyone, with its great array of attractions geared to all ages. The adults can top up their tan on the golden sands through the day, before trying their luck in the casinos by night. There are also a great choice of theme parks which will appeal to both children and thrill seekers.

As this is one of those resorts where there is always something going on, it is well worth making the effort to staying here for a couple of days.
