Leaving A Small Carbon Footprint When Using Private Jets

Using a private jet isn’t going to be so friendly to the environment- they are touted as being one of the biggest producers of carbon emissions in existence. Even so, there are ways to reduce the carbon footprint that every private jet traveler should be aware of.

Know when to use a private jet and when to use other modes of travel. For some celebrities and stars, a private jet is the only way to travel from one point to another- even locations that are but a few hours to drive to. Try not to follow in the footsteps of these individuals and consider using terrain vehicles if the target destination is close enough.

Check with a private jet charter service to see if they offset carbon emissions. If the service does, essentially they will be donating money to organizations that work to reduce the amount of emissions in the air through several practices. Organizations also use funding to create awareness of climate change and seek to get every man, woman, and child into the act of reducing carbon emissions.

A commercial airliner is favorable since it is able to have many occupants at once- allowing a large amount of people to be moved with less flights than smaller planes. Jet charters that are conscious of new trends will allow occupants to ride with others to maximize the efficiency of each flight, and reduce the carbon emissions per individual on the private jet being used.

First class seats can be just as comfortable, although they may not allow for the luxury and privacy a private jet allows. Newer private jets are much more efficient than older models, and if you do decide that your privacy is necessary, try to find a model that is fuel efficient.
