“Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today” doesn’t apply to the young, they think they can procrastinate for as long as they like. Remember those days? I do, and I also know now how precious time is and I try to utilize every moment. I have a few hints here to help you do the same, and to stop wasting time on tasks we shouldn’t even be bothering about.
Although TV is undoubtedly a great invention, it is also the main cause of wasted time. You get into the habit of staring at the flickering screen without actually watching it. This time slot could be used a lot more productively, so leave the TV room and do something else.
If you are in the middle of an important task but a favorite show is coming on, don’t stop what you are doing to watch it, DVR it. You can watch it at your leisure and save time by fast forwarding through the messages, a great time saver in itself.
If you are going to do a necessary task which will, through no fault of your own, create a chunk of wasted time, fill in that time. A prime example of this is waiting in line to renew a driving license.
Think about this logically, would you ever just stand or sit in the house for 2 hours without doing anything? Of course you wouldn’t, take something with you such as a self improvement book or a study book if you have exams coming up.
A lot of time is wasted while driving, and although you may be thinking that this time can’t be utilized, it can! Audio books and podcasts can be downloaded and you can listen to them while you drive, you will absorb the information better and not be in any danger of falling asleep either!
No, it isn’t distracting either. A radio can be more distracting as you aren’t really listening and your mind can start and wander, which can be dangerous.
These are just a few general methods to get you on your way. Once you have checked out your schedule properly, you will see many more ways that you can easily save time throughout your day.
