Finally, parents have a summer camp that is directly tailored to the needs of their children, who are going to summer camp for the first time. Jeff and Lonnie Lorenz, directors of Swift Nature Camp, After listening for years to parents and children, have created a program designed to meet the specific needs of all new campers and their parents.

Discovery Camp, a Traditional Summer Camp is a twelve-day First Timer’s Program offered near Minong, Wisconsin at the Swift Nature Camp. The program utilizes Swift Camp’s highly trained staff at a ratio of two staff members for every cabin of six new campers. The program acknowledges This might be a child’s first extended time away from home. So it’s important that every new camper will find a staff member on hand at all times. Feeling special is what every child wants, and the first priority of this program is to foster the sense that camp is there for them and exists for their benefit.

Days before camp starts, our staff studies each camper profile. We are looking on how to best meet the specific needs. We learn from the parents about the child’s wants, needs and fears. Should a camper have medical needs these will discussed by staff in confidence with the camp nurse. By the time a child arrives at camp, the staff will feel as if they already know that new camper. This preparation is immediately beneficial to the first-time camper from the moment he or she steps off the bus and is warmly and personally greeted.

The first day of Discovery Camp is Orientation Day. New campers get a complete tour of Swift Nature Camp, including a visit to the Health Center, the Mail Box, and every activity area. Every activity is introduced with a discussion about the importance of safety and the basic safety information for that activity.

Im order to promote caring, nurturing friendships, the first day campers write a Respect List for all to agree to and sign and select a story that each night will be their bedtime story. The cabin is the place where community begins. First time campers are gently brought into a sense of connection and community with others who begin on equal footing. We even introduce our helping hand program where camper help each other anonymously.

Discovery Camp is so special for First Time Campers because it’s a well rounded program with a variety of camp activities. Morning activities are instructional, activities include Swimming, Canoeing, Nature Center, Arts and Crafts, Archery, and more. Campers are encouraged to try new and different activities, giving each of them the opportunity to discover and explore what activities he or she might enjoy and eventually excel in. This challenge by choice and never forced. choice from the Our daily activity board, provides camper many activities to choose from each afternoon.

Swift Nature Camp aims to encourage each child to learn independence in a safe, age appropriate environment. The twelve day first-timer program is set up to run the optimum length of time for a first time camper to leave homesickness behind and gain a comfortable sense of autonomy. For many of these campers the greatest first lesson camp teaches them is that they can leave home, return days later and find out that very few things will have changed, especially their parents’ love for them.

Safety is the key word at Swift Nature Camp and Jeff & Lonnie think it’s important that parents know that their children are in a safe, nurturing and secure environment. Parents are encourage to call daily and check in to see how their child is doing, or even stop by for a visit.

A list of references is readily available for those parents who would like to find out if this is the Best first-timer camp for their child. Discovery Camp, a special program for the first time summer camp experience,Learn more about this special place for your child!

Still, not sure visit www.summercampadvice.com about selecting a summer camp for your child.

So you’ve booked a trip to New York City and you may be wondering where to eat. There are thousands of excellent places to choose from, so the experience of narrowing it down to just a few can be quite the challenge.

Much of where you choose to go may depend on your budget, your time constraints, your preferences for foods, and the neighborhood you’re in. The suggestions that I share will be reasonably priced and relatively accessible, assuming you don’t mind a subway or a taxi ride.

It is a well-known fact that delicious pizza is what New York is known for. A really fantastic pizza place to go to is located in the East Village and is called Luzzo’s. Here you will receive exceptionally good Neapolitan pizza which I, along with lots of others, think is some of the greatest you will ever try. They are exactly the right size, fresh and hot.

Now, if you happen to be in the West Village, you ought to check out John’s Pizza on Bleecker Street. There is always a line winding clear outside and it has been called one of the best pizzerias in all of Manhattan.

Another must try in the city is its bagels. If you find yourself uptown, you should definitely try to get to an H&H Bagels location.

There are two Murray’s Bagels stores that can be found on the West side and you should make a point of stopping at one of them when you are downtown. Choose a spread that you like and put it on them when they are nice and hot - you will enjoy them immensely.

If you are thinking about burgers, some of the best-tasting ones in the entire world are found in New York City. Shake Shack is the place that so many folks think has the tastiest burgers. It is relatively easy to get to and there are two main locations.

There is one that is in Madison Square Park. Now, if it is cold out, you might not want to go here since it is right in the park and there is not any indoor seating.

The other one happens to be an indoor Shake Shack eating establishment located on the Upper West Side, so whether or not it is cold out is not going to matter. The choice is up to you as to the location you go to, but, when all is said and done, you will satisfy your hunger with their delicious burgers, fries and shakes.

This writer also frequently shares knowledge regarding products like no show socks and Thorlo tennis socks.

A vital outdoor piece of equipment is your tent, ones outdoor camping experience is usually principally dependent on the actual tent quality that you pick. Which is the reason a large selection of tents can be found for you to choose from.

An essential outdoor piece of equipment is your tent, your own outdoor camping experience is certainly basically determined by the tent quality which you decide on. Which is why a large selection of tents can be found for you to decide upon.

The first plus simplest way in order to narrow your tent options will be to decide the tent dimension that you need.

Tents are designed to house a certain number of people. So that a solo backpacker will be searching for a tent which is smaller much different from family campers of which need a larger as well as roomier tent.

Just about all tents usually are labeled with a description along with their capacity which in turn indicates the number of people the actual tent can easily hold.

In order that if you actually don’t intent upon having a selection of tents in different capacity and also sizes, it’s sensible for you to establish the largest amount of individuals you believe will sleep altogether inside the tent.

If you usually back pack with a companion, but this summer you are going solo, then it is sensible to get a “two-person” tent.

Fundamentally, you will find four tent components that is the poles, tent body, rain fly and the tarp which is some type of footprint or ground cloth to extend your tent’s floor life.

Besides these basic components, here are some tips in choosing the best tent for you:

1. Take into account your requirements. Know your particular camping needs, like where would you mostly go camping, at what season, would you be backpacking? And just how many are you. Each one of these can give you a definite idea of which kind of tent you will need.

2. Set your budget. When you allocate a budget before you decide to go shopping for the tent, usually, you will not overspend.

3. Tent weight plus size. What number of people are going to be sleeping in your tent? The size of your tent will not actually matter in the event you go “car camping”; nonetheless, if you intend of going backpacking, then consider a “light-weight” tent.

4. Tent features. These days, the actual tent companies provide a lot of features for their tents.

Mesh panels allow the breeze go in your tent at the same time keeping the mosquitoes and pesky insects out, “shock-corded” tent poles allow fast set up, water-resistant plus flame resistant for safety, a rain fly for added rain protection, and so forth.

You should make sure you choose the tent of which best caters to your all of your basic requirements.

5. Make sure you choose a long lasting fabric tent. It could cost you more money, nevertheless this certainly is a area really worth spending additional money.

6. Opt for the proper tent color. Examine the way the colour of the tent transfers light effectively in to it’s inside. Certain colours produce a lighter interior, whereas others produce a cave-like and dreary ambience.

Light colors, take note are best for the duration of summer time camping, because they are generally cooler whilst dark colours can easily absorb in solar energy so that they are great during camping in cold weather.

7. Examine the tent’s coating. Keep in mind that you must see a water-proof and shiny coating inside the floor plus rain fly. If this is not visible or you can’t feel this on the tent’s fabric, then it is definitely not thick enough to stand up to heavy use.

8. Be aware that your tent requirements when camping out in the summer will be very much different as compared to camping in the snow.

A large amount of tents available on the market have got weather ratings. Just be sure you buy a tent specifically made for a particular weather condition as well as time of year that you will be out camping.

9. Tent manufacturers. A number of tent manufacturers have their own distinctive design and also name. Quite a few are identified to produce low cost tents, while some are well recognized to produce top quality although costly tents.

Well-liked tent manufacturers are Coleman, Wenger, Eddie Bauer and Greatland Tents. Choose a tent manufacturer which has trusted for many years.

In the forest or even wilderness specifically, the wrong camping gear won’t kill you, however it can really send you packing to some motel and regret having planned camping.

For that well planned and enjoyable camping family vacation, spend some time when you choose your tent.

Remember, it will be your home for several days and nights. Having the appropriate tent will certainly keep you comfortable and warm particularly upon stormy and also cold nights.

Next time you go for a walk in your city, have a look around you at the changing faces of today’s cities. They are doing everything they can these days to lure people into their midst and harbors, gardens, paths and restaurants are appearing all over the place.

There are those who adore the frantic lifestyle that city living brings, and in particular they don’t have to drive and find that ever elusive parking space.

There is a massive push at the minute to get more of us to live in the cities and in certain city’s it seems to be working.

While the hustle and bustle of city life suits certain individuals, there are just as many who find the whole idea abhorrent. They enjoy escaping to their place in the country and the slower pace of life without having neighbors overlooking them.

This goes both ways though, as those who want to move to the country to escape city life also find it a major culture shock. What if you run out of milk or bread? You may have quite a drive to a store, whereas in the city you were never more than a couple of blocks away.

The one thing a lot of people don’t realize when they give up city living for the peace and tranquillity of the country is that they will have to make a weekly trip to a large city supermarket for their groceries. Small country stores don’t carry much stock and are also expensive. So write down things as you need them and make sure you take a comprehensive list so you don’t forget anything.

You should always have a stockpile of goods that won’t perish in case your weekly trip has to be delayed for some reason. These include things like toilet rolls and toiletries, canned and frozen foods and cough and cold remedies.

This may seem basic but it can take some people a while to get into the habit of only shopping once a week as they are so used to just picking things up on the way home.

The writer additionally often contributes articles about subject including the electric log splitter and manual log splitter.

Everywhere you turn as of late, a celebrity or something is telling you to Go Green! In the past, going green meant with envy, but nowadays people have gotten hip to the fact the environment is in turmoil but it’s on us to assist ensure it is a better place.

Now, I’m no Greenpeace Activist, nevertheless I do my share. I recycle. I shut down lights. I even bought those unsightly spiral illumination bulbs for the lamps in my house. With some people, these tiny life adjustments are adequate. For other people who would like to accomplish more, there’s surprisingly many things they could do to lessen their carbon trace in the world.

Ever think about going green on your vacation? Recently, I visited Tulum, a small seaside town around ninety minutes south of Cancun. While the jungle makes up greater than 90 % of the surroundings, it’s not exactly the green I’m chatting about. For years, Tulum has been the host to a developing quantity of eco-friendly resorts. These resorts function nearly completely on wind and solar energy however several do possess gas or diesel driven back-up generators just in case. Many of the eco resorts do use wind and solar for the bulk of their power needs.

In Tulum, these eco-cabana resorts line the perfect seashores leading into Sian Ka’an Biosphere, a 1.3-million-acre nature reserve stretching down the Caribbean coast. These resorts proffer a variety from rustic cabanas located on the beach to comfortable adobe-style rooms. Smaller in comparison to the major resorts in Cancun in spite of this, the majority of do not lack in services. Several resorts like Playa Azul and Los Lirios Cabana Resort along with the super luxurious Blue Tulum Hotel offer full spa services from beach-side massages to face sessions by means of natural Mayan skincare products. Almost all of them have bistros that serve delectable, epicurean food well into the evening. The variety of options was a pleasant surprise!

My earliest trip to an eco-friendly resort was a couple of years ago in Tulum. I’m no camper, by any means, therefore when I read the brief list of gear to bring, my stress level went up a rung upon seeing flashlight as on the list of must-haves.

A flashlight? I thought. What’s up using the electricity? There is none later than 11pm, that’s what! Immediately, some people would on no account even deliberate staying in a place that doesn’t have full electricity running 24 hours each day, 7 days a week. But, I was desperate for the escape. I figured I’d go to see what this whole eco-resort craze was all about.

It was 2006 and my first occasion in Tulum. I?ve been back three times since! My experience was amazing. Being by the beach takes care of the worry that it’ll be excessively hot in the room without A/C. The lights being turned off past 11pm wasn’t a problem at all. I had my flashlight, nevertheless there were also Tiki torches lighting up the entire property, so yeah, electrical energy wasn’t sorely missed at all. By and large, my first endeavor into eco-tourism was no different than every other holiday I’d had in the past.

I should note that some of the eco resorts in Tulum do have 24 hour electricity, but you should definitely check those details before going if that is a priority for you.

The need to be green has reached way ahead of the Greenpeace set. Give it some thought and consider doing more than your part.

Flying in a private jet may not be something that the average Joe can afford on a continual basis, but the high price can still be haggled with. There are also some “tricks of the trade” that can be followed that will help chip away at the high costs of a private jet. By using these little known secrets, you can save more money to put towards things of importance- such as a vacation or your family.

One way to lower the cost of a private jet charter is to simply agree to fly with others in a more communal setting. By allowing others along the way, you are dividing the total price by each person that is added. Even only adding another five people can greatly reduce the costs you incur by renting out a private jet.

Depending on the jet charter you side with, you might be eligible for discounts based on the current flight schedule. Some jet charters will offer discounts for flights that need more passengers, while others might offer larger discounts for return flights that have no passengers at all. Your schedule must be incredibly flexible to take advantage of these offers.

If you are not against the idea of flying with a local pilot, you can get your own private jet flight for a lot less than what other services offer. You might skip out on plenty of luxury items, and there are other concerns, but if you are familiar with the pilot then you should have a much less expensive ride. If this isn’t possible, try to instead fly with a local jet charter to reduce transport costs.

Some private jets come with a small kitchen that can have a real refrigerator, oven, and microwave. Even if you don’t, there are catering services that can fix an amazing meal before the flight. The only problem is that both newer jets and catering services are quite expensive. Instead, look into making your own meal along a jet that isn’t as advanced so as to have a full kitchen in it- you’ll save a ton of money.

Always look into talking to a jet charter broker. A broker only does one thing in a work day: consult deals for customers who need a private jet flight. As a result, they are adept in knowing who has the best deals for a specific budget. They can arrange special services and pull strings with the big jet charter services in order to get prices down. Brokers do request a fee, but it’s often money saved when using them.

Closing Comments

Private jet charter flights don’t have to be as expensive as some make them out to be. Follow the tips mentioned to get your own rented private jet to the destination of your choice, but at a cost that is much more agreeable than the average going rate.

Instead of heading to the bar, why not plan your own Cinco de Mayo blowout? It is a great excuse to indulge in delicious Mexican food, dress in colorful clothing and enjoy your favorite Mexican beverages. By planning your own party, you are in total control of the menu, the decorations, the entertainment, and the guest list.

Take extra care with your menu. If you cannot or do not want to do all the cooking, ask your guests to bring dishes for a potluck meal. They all have to be Mexican recipes, though! If you have the cash, you could also have the event catered. Go for some tried and true recipes and some that are exotic. Plan on dishes like tacos, tamales, quesadillas, and refried beans. Make it really simple and set up a salsa or taco bar. Remember to provide enough to drink for everyone. If you are supplying alcohol, take a look at the Mexican beers your local shops have to offer. Margaritas are also a great choice. Do not forget to provide a non-alcoholic beverage for those who wish to remain clear-headed. You can stick with the Mexican theme by providing agua fresco or horchata, which are suitable for guests of all ages.

Set the right mood with your decorations. Hit your local market or party store just down the block. You can get banners, brightly colored cups, and plates. Hang strings of dried chilies or Latin-themed lights all over. Find some maracas or sombreros for your guests to enjoy. Big beautiful flowers made from tissue paper are a very authentic Mexican touch. A final touch would be hanging tissue streamers of red, green, and white in honor of the Mexican flag.

Write up your guest list. How many can you accommodate in your home? Design your invitations with the colors of the Mexican flag and send them out early enough so your friends can plan on attending. Request that they RSVP so you know how many guests you can expect at the big event.

Festive salsa and other types of Mexican music add to the atmosphere of the party. If you have the money, a live mariachi band can make any partygoer want to dance. Stop in to your local Mexican market and check out the CDs, you should be able to find enough there to keep your guests entertained.

If your party is going to be child-friendly, you will need to have some fun party games for all to play. There has stick the tail on the burro, just make sure everyone is safe while blindfolded. Everybody loves piatas or you can form a scavenger hunt. The main thing is to just have fun.

Hosting Cinco de Mayo parties can be fun and rewarding for all. You might even make it an annual occurrence. The key to a great party is planning and delegation; you will not have disappointment when you plan for success.

After your party is over, you will be able to assess its level of success. Did everyone have a great time? Did you? The true mark of a successful party is when you can look back on it with satisfaction at all the great memories you made.

If you would like to know more about Mexican food or learn how to making authentic Mexican recipes, you will find lots of interesting facts, information and recipes at MexicanFoodRecipes.org as well as plenty of articles about Mexican food culture and the wonderful spices which give this cuisine its unique flavor along with interesting information like the history of enchiladas.

Mexico shares many cooking methods with other parts of the world, but they do have a few that you may not be familiar with. Like you, they fry, boil, and grill. But have you ever tried a steaming bucket? Have you tried a molcajete?

Steaming is a popular method in Mexican cookery. A dish known as barbacoa is cooked by wrapping meat in a cactus or banana leaf and steaming it over water that is boiling inside a pit. Steaming buckets are the traditional way to cook tamales. Steam keeps the masa on the outside of the filling moist. Today, many Mexican cooks use special kettles that allow them to cook many types of tamale at the same time. Sweating is another method used, especially to remove the skin on fresh chilies. Onions and chilies are also soaked frequently to make them a bit more mild. Letting them soak in milk or a water and vinegar solution for half an hour to an hour will remove some of the heat.

You are still thinking about the molcajete, are not you? A molcajete is a mortar and pestle. This is a small tool used to grind herbs, spices, and grains. When a lot of corn needed to be ground up, Mexican families would use a metate y mano. This was a large stone with a smooth, slightly concave face. Today, many families buy masa already ground up, but some families still do this task in the traditional way.

Mexican cooks often simmer and boil their food. Vegetables and meat may be placed into a pot to slowly cook all day long. By dinner time, the meat is so tender it falls to pieces. The meat is then used for carnitas, tacos, and many other recipes.

Grilling is a popular method of cooking in Mexico. The open flame adds so much flavor to the dish. Many meats are marinated in spices and peppers and then grilled so they can be used in various recipes. Grilling and roasting increases the flavor of tomatoes, garlic, onions, chilies and tomatillos. The flame kisses the ingredients, caramelizing the sugars and creating delicious flavors.

Stewing is a traditional method of cooking that has been used in Mexico since time immemorial. The long cooking times needed for proper stewing were common. At times, the vegetables and meats were cooked separately and then combined for further simmering before serving. Today, this is often done in a Dutch oven. In days gone by, this was done in a clay cazuela.

You can also use some quick Mexican recipes that will have you eating dinner before you know it. Not every dish needs to be cooked all day long. Do not be afraid to try some new techniques now and then. Learn about new cooking methods and adapt them to your needs. Incorporating new cooking techniques can increase your cooking skills and it is a lot of fun to try new foods.

There is so much to learn about the fascinating tapestry of Mexican cuisine. The depth of flavors and cooking methods that provide them are such an interesting study all by themselves.

Enchiladas are known all over the world, like a lot of other Mexican foods, perhaps because they are a unique food and nothing else will do when you have an enchilada craving! Enchiladas are easy to make yourself and they make a really tasty and filling dinner for the family.

Insurance Times published an article recently stating that the financial ombudsman had decreed that there are certain circumstances in which it would back the policyholder over the insurer, excluding however, instances where keys have been left in or near a car. I was then left wondering if the same would apply to motor homes.

So the family and I had rather a late night in our motorhome playing cards and so we were all quite tired when we eventually turned in for the night, meaning that the next morning we were already late for our arranged meeting with our friends and fellow motor-homers the Wilsons. Then came the usual morning commotion, the queue for the shower and the breakfast rush, then by the time we were ready to leave our friends had decided to explore the countryside without us.

I then realised I had no idea where the keys were so I looked for them, and couldn’t find them. My family then joined in the search and in my usual calm and patient manner I accused each family member of stealing them, then moved on to accusations of half-hearted searching before finally accepting my son’s version of events which was that aliens must have come from mars and stolen the keys to our motorhome. So I then went to the cab to get my mobile so I could call my insurance company for help. I was stranded in a field with a grumpy family and to make matters worse, it was about to rain.

There in the centre consul, with my phone, were the keys! Oh my goodness. I had left the keys of my precious motor home in the cab. I couldn’t help wondering if my motor home would have been insured if it had been stolen and my mind drifted back to the Insurance Times article.

If my motorhome had been a car the ombudsman would have considered

Location

Was I in a position to deter a thief

Was I recklessly ignoring the risks

Mitigating factors

Whether I knew about the exclusion in the insurance policy

I would like to think that this kind of thinking would have applied to me and my motorhome. If you use an insurance broker there is a much higher chance of finding a comprehensive insurance policy to cover you whatever your situation.

For a leading service in motorhome insurance contact Coversure. They provide motorhome insurance is unmatched by other companies and you’ll leave with peace of mind that you’re covered.

It is the herbs and spices used in Mexican cooking that truly make the meal. If these ingredients were not added, a Mexican dish would not differ greatly from many others. The herbs and spices used in Mexico help make the cuisine special. It is good to learn all you can about them.

Chile powder is used in almost every Mexican dish. This common spice is usually a mixture of many different chilies. Chipotle is one kind of seasoning you may find. It is made from dried smoked jalapeno peppers. Ancho peppers, on the other hand, give food a more sweet, fruity flavor. Many commercial chile powders that you find at the market are actually a combination of oregano, coriander, cumin, garlic, salt, and chilies.

Epazote is a green herb that grows fairly tall. Also known as, Mexican tea, this herb is used in bean dishes to add flavor and relieve digestive problems that beans may cause. Epazote is potent and should only be used in small quantities. Large quantities can be toxic. Just add a couple of leaves to your bean dish as it cooks.

If you need a distinctive flavor or a yellow coloring to a dish, use annatto seeds. They are often added to sauces and rice dishes. The seeds are soaked for at least an hour in water before use. The water can also be used in cooking. The crushed seeds are often used in marinades.

Cilantro is an herb that looks a lot like flat leaf parsley. In reality, they are the leaves of the coriander plant. Cilantro is always used fresh. The flavor is a bit pungent and it adds a nice tanginess to a recipe. It works well in salsas, rice, beans, moles, stews, and soups. Cilantro brightens up the flavor of many dishes.

The seeds of the cumin plant are often used in Mexican cooking. Cumin seeds can be used ground into powder or whole. It is often used with chile powder to create a nice balance in the flavors. Soups, stews and many other dishes are better after you add cumin. Azafran, also known as safflower or Mexican saffron, adds flavor and color to a dish, making it a beautiful yellow. This spice is used sparingly because it can be bitter. It is frequently added to rice or seafood.

If you are looking for free traditional Mexican recipes you will find that you need many of these spices as well as thyme and oregano. Mexican oregano is very different from Italian oregano. It has an earthy quality that really adds a lot to the food. Unless you live in an area with a large Mexican population, it may be difficult to find. You can sometimes find it in the grocery store or in specialty herb catalogs.
