While it gets us from place to place traveling by airplane is generally an annoying experience. Between finding transportation, packing our bags, sitting on lines, and spending a good deal of money to sit on a crowded plane, there’s not much to like about it.
Whatever your qualms may be, you’re not alone. Flying on airplanes is an arduous task, but there’s some good news. There are a few ways that you may be able to make the overall process a bit easier. Here are some ideas that may be of use to you.
My first recommendation is to travel lightly when it comes to your baggage. Do whatever you possibly can to ensure that you can check your bag on the flight.
Why bother waiting the extra time that it may take to get your bag from the luggage check? After all, the last thing you’ll probably want to do after a long flight is to wait for your luggage.
Get some snacks before the flight. Airlines these days are scaling back on so many things, and that includes meals.
It blows my mind to see all of the carriers who now try to charge you for a meal. As if you’re not already paying enough for the cost of a ticket. Anyway, the terminals are usually lined with decent options and I’d suggest bringing something with you.
You should also make sure to go to the bathroom beforehand. If you’ve ever gotten onto an airplane with nothing but the desire to go to the bathroom, you’re not alone. The first half hour or more of the flight can prohibit you from standing up. As a result, you should definitely make it a point to go in advance.
Bring your own pillow. The pillows on airplanes are pretty uncomfortable to say the least. By bringing an accessory like a microbead travel pillow, you can very easily find comfort and even sleep while flying through the air.
